(5 December 2012)

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) welcomed yesterday the first route from a Chinese carrier to Abu Dhabi when the inaugural flight from Hainan Airlines arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport from Beijing.

The new route will be operated twice weekly connecting Beijing to Luanda via Abu Dhabi.

The new service will fly out of Beijing every Monday and Friday at 21:20, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 03:20 the following day. It will then depart from Abu Dhabi on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 05:20, landing in Luanda at 10:50 on the same day.

The return flights will leave Luanda at 12:50 on Tuesdays and Saturdays, landing in Abu Dhabi at 23:50 on the same day. The service will fly out of Abu Dhabi on Sundays and Wednesdays at 01:50, landing in Beijing at 13:55 on the same day.

James E. Bennett, CEO of ADAC said: " We are pleased to welcome the first Chinese international carrier to use Abu Dhabi International Airport to connect with the rest of the world. The flights will not only increase the choice of destinations from Abu Dhabi, but they will also give Hainan Airlines’ passengers the opportunity to experience one of the most dynamic capitals in the Middle East and the world-class service Abu Dhabi International Airport has to offer." CMO Hou Wei from Hainan Airlines, said: "We’re glad to work with ADAC on the new operation. I believe that expanding our network to Abu Dhabi and via Abu Dhabi International Airport to many more destinations in the Middle East, Europe and Africa etc. will be a strategic step for Hainan Airlines." The new route will be operated on a Boeing B767-300ER aircraft with 34 business and 199 economy seats. Hainan Airlines has signed a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, enabling passengers on Hainan’s flights from Beijing to connect to Etihad’s worldwide network.
